Hyderabad: Telangana Congress working president T Jayaprakash Jagga Reddy on Saturday said he would contest against T Harish Rao from Siddipet assembly constituency if directed by the Congress high command.“I had only stated I would not contest from Sangareddy but never ruled out contesting from another constituency. I will abide by the decision of the party high command. If it asks, I am prepared to contest from Siddipet too in the next assembly election,” Jagga Reddy told media persons. He strongly backed chief minister A Revanth Reddy’s announcement that the Congress will win 117 of the 182 assembly seats in telangana post-delimitation, terming it as an early preparation for the next Assembly polls.“The CM seems to have set in motion the preparation of strategies for winning 117 Assembly seats in Telangana. The Congress leaders and cadres in the state and the AICC leadership are strongly in support of Revanth Reddy’s vision and decisions,” Jagga Reddy claimed.Stating that the CM had every right to take decisions necessary to secure a second consecutive term for the Congress govt in the state, he sought to caution that none of the sitting MLAs should assume a ticket was guaranteed in the next elections. “In politics, no one is indispensable. The final selection of candidates would be in the hands of the AICC leadership, which will do it in consultation with the CM, AICC in charge of Telangana and the TPCC president,” he said.
