Kanpur: A 20-year-old youth, Suraj Kumar, a resident of Tirma village under Sen Paschim police station limits, has allegedly been missing since Sept 19 after he reportedly left for his in-laws’ house and later called his mother from an unknown number, saying he was in danger.Family members said Suraj had gone to meet his wife in Lalpur village but did not reach there.Later that evening, he called his mother and told her he was in danger. However, the call got disconnected before she could speak to him in detail. The family tried calling the number back, but it was switched off.They also visited Suraj’s in-laws’ house and questioned his wife and her family members. In addition, they contacted relatives and acquaintances and searched nearby areas, but failed to trace him.After the youth remained untraceable for the next two days, the family submitted a written complaint at Sen Paschim police station on Sept 22.Station in-charge Pradeep Kumar Singh said a search operation was underway and information was being gathered through mobile location data and surveillance.
