Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has reclaimed 16 acres of government land in TNGO Colony, Serilingampally mandal of Rangareddy district, acting on encroachment complaints received through Prajavani. The land, valued at around Rs 3,200 crore, has been fenced and marked as govt property to prevent further illegal occupation.Officials said the land was originally earmarked for public use under a Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) layout approved in 2007. Of the total, 10 acres were designated as Musai Kunta, 4 acres as green belt, and 2 acres for a govt school, while some portions were earlier linked to allocations for TNGO employees.During the probe, authorities found clear evidence of encroachments. Allegations also emerged that some employee union representatives were encouraging illegal occupation. Following verification, HYDRAA initiated corrective measures, securing the land and installing signboards asserting govt ownership.
