HYDERABAD: A 40-year-old doctor from Keesara ended his life by injecting himself with poison in his car on ORR near Rampally Dayara on Tuesday afternoon. An abetment to suicide case was registered against the doctor’s wife based on a complaint lodged by the doctor’s family.Keesara police said that the victim worked as a general physician at a private hospital in the city. At around 3 pm, Keesara police found Vinod Kumar lying unconscious in his car parked on the side of the ORR at Rampally Dayara. “A cannula was still taped to his right hand. An empty syringe was also found in the car. Our team rushed him to a near private hospital where he was declared dead on arrival,” said Malkajgiri DCP Ch Sridhar.Police informed his family about the death. In his complaint, the doctor’s father alleged that prolonged harassment by his daughter-in-law drove his son to suicide. The doctor, married for 18 years, is survived by two sons aged 12 and 10. The complaint says the wife controlled his finances and blocked communication with family members.
