Hyderabad: Defence and aerospace precision engineering player Sigma Advanced Systems is acquiring 100% stake in UK-based Bromford Precision Solutions for around Rs 153 crore (GBP £11.89 million) in a deal aimed at expanding its global aerospace manufacturing footprint. The Hyderabad-based company said the transaction is expected to close by the end of July and is subject to customary conditions. However, Bromford’s current management team will continue to run daily operations with support from Sigma’s leadership. Founded in 1988 and based in Leicestershire, Bromford manufactures high-precision, complex aeroengine rings, compressor casings, ducts, brackets, lock plates and other complex machined engine structures. The company serves aerospace and power generation customers and holds approvals from leading original equipment manufacturers, including Rolls-Royce and Siemens. Sigma said Bromford’s capabilities complement its existing expertise in larger aeroengine structures supplied to the same customer base. The acquisition will also strengthen Sigma’s UK presence alongside its Nasmyth Group business and deepen its position in the Rolls-Royce supply chain. The company plans to improve Bromford’s performance through capital investment, automation, selective transfer of component manufacturing to India and expanded long-term agreements with major OEM customers.Sigma Advanced Systems CEO Sunil Kalidindi said the acquisition will strengthen Sigma’s role in one of the world’s most demanding aeroengine supply chains. He said the combined group would create one of the most capable ring and casing manufacturing platforms globally, while building on Bromford’s engineering heritage.Sigma, which is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange, makes mission-critical systems and components across avionics, naval systems, radars, communications and aerospace, and is expanding from an India-based supplier into an integrated aerospace and defence platform. The company said Bromford is operationally profitable and benefits from demand from key customers.
