Behrampore: Nowda MLA Humayun Kabir was interrogated by Rejinagar police for the second time on Tuesday over the AJUP chief’s alleged provocative speech at a public rally. He was earlier questioned for four hours on July 4.On Tuesday, Kabir reached the AJUP district office at Rejinagar about an hour before the interrogation. After a short meeting with party workers, he walked to the police station. Before entering the police station, Kabir said, “I will also attend the Shaktipur police enquiry on July 19. Cops, however, have become BJP servants. Nobody lodged a complaint… we will meet Beldanga SDPO on July 17 with AJUP workers to complain against partisan role of police.”After the interrogation, Kabir said, “Last day, they quizzed me for four hours, today it was four-and-a-half hours. They asked many exaggerated questions to satisfy BJP. Under Trinamool, cops at least took more time to become party loyalists.”Suvendu Adhikari earlier warned at a Rejinagar rally, without naming Humayun, that the govt would not allow such threats. He referred to Humayun’s remarks that he knew the capacity of inmates in Berhampore Central Correctional Home and would lead a movement with lakhs of followers from a particular community.
