Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh govt will hold block-level interaction programmes, named Jan Samvad, from Aug 6 to 8 under its Apna Parivar Sukhi Parivar Yojana to engage directly with nearly 1.78 lakh ultra-poor families identified across the state.Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced the initiative while reviewing the rural development and panchayati raj department. The programmes will be chaired by local MLAs, with clusters of up to 10 gram panchayats participating.The families were identified through an eight-phase survey, including around 85,000 who have never been included in the below poverty line (BPL) category or received benefits under state welfare schemes.The govt said feedback from the Jan Samvad sessions would be used to design targeted interventions and improve implementation of welfare programmes.
