Meanwhile, Alicent prepares to welcome the Half-Year Queen, dispatching forces to Harrenhal and trying to flee with Helaena by dragon. However, the events do not execute as planned, and they ultimately get caught.When Alicent came back, she saw Rhaenyra near the throne – and the beheaded body of her father, Otto Hightower (played by Rhys Ifans). During the finale of the second season, he was detained but alive. However, Hightower was escorted to see Rhaenyra from the dungeons upon her arrival at King’s Landing, per People. With Otto’s beheading, Rhaenyra now finally sits on the Iron Throne.
