IMD has forecast light to moderate rainfall at many places across Haryana on Saturday, including Gurgaon

Gurgaon: Hot and humid conditions persisted in the city on Saturday as rain clouds remained elusive, despite the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorms later in the day.The maximum temperature remained above 33°C at monitoring stations across the city. At Gurgaon KVK, the maximum temperature was recorded at 33.2°C, while the Gurgaon AWS recorded 33°C. At NorthCap University, the maximum temperature climbed to 34.1°C, significantly higher than the 30.6°C recorded there a day earlier.IMD has forecast light to moderate rainfall at many places across Haryana on Saturday, including Gurgaon, Rewari, Jhajjar, Nuh, Palwal, Faridabad, Rohtak, Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind, Ambala and Yamunanagar. Thunderstorms are also likely in several areas during the later part of the day.Despite the possibility of rain, the high humidity kept conditions uncomfortable for residents, particularly during the afternoon.However, the minimum temperature experienced a drop. At Gurgaon KVK, the minimum temperature was recorded at 26.5°C, down from 28.3°C on Friday, while Gurgaon AWS recorded 25.2°C, compared with 26.4°C a day earlier. At NorthCap University, the minimum temperature stood at 27°C.The weather is likely to remain unsettled over the coming days. According to IMD, the weather conditions are being influenced by the monsoon trough, whose western end is currently north of its normal position while the eastern end is south of its normal position at mean sea level. An upper-air cyclonic circulation is also lying over southwest Rajasthan and adjoining areas in the lower tropospheric levels.IMD has forecast light to moderate rainfall at many places in Haryana on Aug 18 and at a few places on the remaining days. Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places on Aug 17 and 18.
