In a startling incident at the Rosera sub-divisional hospital, Anil Ram, a clerk, was taken into custody by the Vigilance Investigation Bureau in Samastipur. He was found in the act of accepting a hefty bribe of Rs 1 lakh, right on the bustling main road near Sub-Division Chowk.

Patna: Vigilance Investigation Bureau (VIB) arrested Anil Ram, a clerk at the sub-divisional hospital, Rosera, in Samastipur district, while accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh for processing payment of pending salary and arrears of an employee. A headquarters team caught him from the main road near Sub-Division Chowk under Rosera police station limits.Director general of VIB Jitendra Singh Gangwar said, “Complainant Devendra Mandar, son of late Thithar Mandar, resident of Shahru village in Shivaji Nagar police station area of Samastipur, alleged that the clerk demanded a bribe for processing pending salary and arrears totalling Rs 37 lakh and pension-related work.”He added that the complaint was verified and evidence of bribe demand was found before registration of the case. A raiding team led by DSP Sanjay Kumar of VIB Patna trapped Anil Ram red-handed. The accused will be produced before the special vigilance court in Muzaffarpur. Further investigation is underway.
