Shivamogga: Hosanagara police have swiftly solved a murder case in Sonale village, Hosanagara taluk, where a construction worker named Parashuram was stabbed to death with a kitchen knife following an argument on Saturday night. The incident came to light on Sunday.Shivamogga district SP B Nikhil on Monday told reporters that two accused individuals, Arun and Parashuram, were arrested and produced before a local court, which remanded them to judicial custody. All three men were residents of Ichanahalli Tanda in Kalghatgi taluk, Dharwad district, and had come to Sonale village together for masonry work, he stated.The incident took place during dinner after work, when the conversation turned to Arun, who is separated from his wife for the past 10 months. Being older, the victim advised Arun that leaving one’s wife was not a solution and that he should keep his family together. Offended by this advice, a heated argument broke out while they were under the influence of alcohol, leading Arun and the co-accused to pick up a kitchen knife and allegedly stab Parashuram in the neck, killing him on the spot.The SP clarified that the victim had just returned to work that day after 15 days of leave. He added that the accused had no prior criminal record and that the crime was an impulsive act triggered by alcohol and momentary provocation rather than a premeditated plan.
