Bidar: A homemaker, unable to bear the harassment at her husband’s house, died by suicide by hanging herself at her home in Om Nagar, behind the bus stand, in Basavakalyan town in Bidar district on Saturday. The deceased is Anjanabai, 22. The parents of the deceased, alleged in their complaint that their daughter was harassed by her husband’s family and even forced her into prostitution. Anjanabai, a resident of Joladabaka village in Bhalki taluk, married Shekhar Patil of Om Nagar, Basavakalyan, in 2022. The couple also has an 11-month-old child. It is alleged that Anjanabai was physically and mentally abused by her husband and family members after the wedding, which led her to take the extreme step.
