Indore: Students of Govt Holkar Science College will soon have the opportunity to gain international academic exposure as the college has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Taiwan’s Fo Guang University.

The collaboration is expected to create avenues for student exchange programmes, short-term academic courses, research partnerships and international seminars, allowing students to acquire global skills and strengthen their career prospects.

The MoU was signed by the college principal Anamika Jain and Fo Guang University president Chao Han-Chieh. The signing ceremony was attended by the university’s vice-president and dean of international affairs Yuan-Ron Ma, along with senior academicians from both institutions. The partnership aims to promote academic cooperation between India and Taiwan while encouraging greater interaction between students and faculty members.

Principal Dr Anamika Jain said This collaboration will give our students opportunities that go beyond classroom learning. Exposure to international teaching methods, research facilities and interaction with students from different countries will help them develop academic excellence, professional skills and a global outlook. We hope many of our students will benefit from these programmes and return with knowledge that can contribute to society and industry.”

Under the agreement, students of Holkar Science College will get opportunities to participate in exchange programmes, summer schools, certificate courses, workshops and short-term academic programmes conducted by the Taiwanese university. They will also be able to collaborate on international research projects and interact with students from different countries, providing them with wider academic and cultural exposure.

College officials said the collaboration will enable students to learn about emerging technologies, modern research practices and professional skills that are increasingly valued in higher education and industry. Exposure to advanced laboratories, innovative teaching methods and international academic standards is expected to enhance their learning experience.

Apart from academic benefits, students will gain first-hand experience of studying in a different cultural environment, helping them develop confidence, communication skills and a global perspective. The partnership is also expected to improve employability by equipping students with internationally relevant knowledge and practical skills.

The college believes the collaboration marks an important step towards expanding international opportunities for its students and strengthening academic ties between educational institutions in India and Taiwan.
