Hyderabad: Two persons were killed after a speeding car hit their bike at Nacharam on Tuesday night. The accused driver abandoned the vehicle at the scene and fled. Police registered a case against the driver on Wednesday.The deceased were identified as D Gangadhar, 45, a labourer, and J Ganesh, 40, a labour contractor. Around 9 pm, Gangadhar left his house in Moulali along with Ganesh, who was riding pillion, after receiving information about work.“While they were travelling from Shakti Sai Nagar towards BEL Company Road in Nacharam, a car coming from the opposite direction rammed into the bike at high speed in a rash and negligent manner,” said Nacharam inspector K Dhanunjaya.Due to the impact, both victims fell on the road, while the car dragged the bike for nearly 50 metres before coming to a halt. The driver then abandoned the vehicle and escaped from the spot.The injured were shifted to a private hospital in ECIL in a 108 ambulance. “Gangadhar was declared brought dead. Ganesh was later shifted to Gandhi Hospital for advanced treatment, where he succumbed to injuries in the early hours of Wednesday,” the inspector added.Based on a complaint lodged by Gangadhar’s wife, D Radha, police registered a case under Section 106(1) (causing death by negligence) of the BNS.
