Kanpur: Yugam International School is leading with 6 points after the third round of CBSE zone-A chess championship (girls from class 6 to class 8) played at Delhi Public school Kalyanpur on Wednesday.Around 65 girl students from 13 schools are participating in this two-day event. The remaining two rounds of the championship will be held on day two. Earlier, Richa Prakash, principal of the host school, inaugurated the championship. Shreya Saxena, ex-student of the school, who was as the special guest shared her chess journey and described what she had learnt from this game.Dilip Srivastava, secretary, Kanpur Chess Association, described the contribution of the host school for the chess game and thanked the principal.After the three rounds, the top five placeholder schools and their points are:1, Yugam International (6 pts), 2. Sir Padampat Singhania Education Centre (5 pts), 3. Shri Sanatan Dharam Education Centre and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Sanatan Dharm (both 4 pts each), 4. Virendra Swarup Kalyanpur, The Chintels Kalyanpur and Gardenia Public School (all 3 pts each).………………..JNT U- 2 Cricket-As many as 180 players have been selected by the selectors for 14th JNT U-12 cricket championship for Sigma Giplock trophy to be held at the Kanpur South ground from May 17.The JNT organization has organized a three-day camp for selected 180 children at Kanpur South ground in which Rahul Sapru former Ranji Trophy (captain) and Vikas Yadav (coach) of Indonesian cricket team will describe the finer points of the gameAccording to Sanjay Shukla among the selected players, the highest 91 belong to Kanpur, 36 to Lucknow, 11 are from Unnao, 8 from Varanasi, 5 from Aligarh 3 from ,Sultanpur and Mahoba, 4 from Gorakhpur and one each from Fatehpur Ghazipur, Gonda, Auriaya , Ambedkar Nagar, Anpara , Basti, Etah, Jhansi and Maudaha cities.kar
