Prayagraj: A history sheeter identified as Manvendra alias Jailor, a resident of Sarayinayat was arrested on the charges of opening fire in broad daylight in Jhunsi bazar on Saturday. Cops also seized the pistol used in firing.Station officer (Jhunsi) Mahesh Mishra told TOI that the arrested man was a history sheeter registered with Sarayinayat police station and a total of 19 criminal cases were pending against him. He added that the police have been verifying the credentials of the pistol whether it was licensed or illegal. Cops are also looking for two of his accomplices who were with him at the time of firing incident.Police said that the two opposite camps were at loggerheads over a dispute near Lal Chowk under the limits of Jhunsi police station on Saturday. In the meantime, the accused arrived at the spot and opened fire in the air leading to panic among commuters and traders.
