Guwahati: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s proposed visit to Assam on Sept 8 to inaugurate India’s first bamboo-based bio-refinery at Numaligarh Refinery, chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday visited the refinery at Golaghat district and took stock of the progress of work. The bamboo-based bio refinery being built at an investment of Rs 4000 crore.Sarma also held a review meeting with NRL functionaries, ministers, MP and MLAs and took note of the progress of the bamboo-based ethanol plant and the progress of the expansion of NRL.During his visit, the CM also inaugurated the Dhansiri Nagar township constructed for the refinery staff.Sarma also later met the security personnel who were injured in the grenade attack at Bokakhat at the circuit house of Bokakhat. He took note of the health conditions of the injured personnel — Siddhartha Borbora, Sushil Bhowmick and Mintu Hazarika — and wished them a speedy recovery.
