Shimla: Himachal Pradesh govt has issued detailed instructions for its employees, emphasising formal office attire and responsible social media use.Employees have been directed to maintain decorum in the workplace by wearing clean, modest, and professional clothing in sober colours, avoiding casual or party attire such as jeans and T-shirts. Male employees are advised to wear shirts with trousers or collared shirts paired with pants, along with shoes or sandals. Female employees are expected to wear sarees, formal suits, salwars, churidars, kurtas with dupattas, or trouser pants with shirts, paired with sandals, shoes, or chappals. The dress code is intended to uphold modesty, professionalism, and decorum in offices and during court appearances. Also, employees have been cautioned against expressing personal opinions on govt policies, schemes, or political and religious matters on social media, vlogs, or other public forums. Official information must not be shared on personal social media accounts without proper authorisation. Employees have also been reminded to exercise discipline in their social media activities to prevent any breach of conduct. Violation of these instructions would be viewed seriously, and disciplinary action against the erring officers or officials would be taken depending on the nature of the violation.
