NEW DELHI: Heavy rain lashed parts of Delhi on Wednesday morning, bringing relief to residents from the humid heat.The city recorded a minimum temperature of 28.4 degrees Celsius, according to the weather office. Safdarjung also recorded 28.4 degrees Celsius, while Palam recorded 22.4 degrees Celsius, 3.8 degrees below normal.Lodi Road recorded a minimum of 27.6 degrees Celsius, 2.6 degrees above normal. The Ridge recorded 23.6 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal, while Ayanagar recorded 26.1 degrees Celsius, 0.1 degree above normal.Palam received 64.2 mm of rain in the 24 hours till 8.30am on Wednesday, while Ayanagar recorded 1.9 mm. Safdarjung and the Ridge reported no rainfall, while Lodi Road recorded trace rainfall.The maximum temperature is expected to reach around 35 degrees Celsius, according to the forecast.Delhi’s air quality index (AQI) stood at 113 at 9am, placing it in the ‘moderate’ category, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).The CPCB classifies an AQI of 0-50 as ‘good’, 51-100 as ‘satisfactory’, 101-200 as ‘moderate’, 201-300 as ‘poor’, 301-400 as ‘very poor’ and 401-500 as ‘severe’.
