In response to devastating rain and hailstorms, the Chief Minister of Manipur has initiated a state of emergency, urging officials to remain vigilant. Emergency teams are mobilizing immediately to reach families in need, providing critical assistance. Meanwhile, Churachandpur district is advising its community to prepare for light to moderate rainfall and potential thunderstorms expected over the coming day.

Imphal/Churchandpur: Manipur chief minister Yumnam Khemchand has ordered officials to stay on high alert and launch immediate, coordinated action after heavy rain and hailstorms hit parts of the state.In a statement, Khemchand said relief and response teams had been told to move quickly to provide affected households with essential aid, including relief materials and basic necessities. He said departments were closely monitoring the situation and working on the ground to assist those impacted.The chief minister said the govt “stands firmly with the people during this difficult time” and is committed to ensuring “relief, safety and assistance to every affected family.”Separately, the deputy commissioner of Churachandpur issued a public advisory on Sunday, urging residents to take precautions to prevent loss of life and property damage in view of recent weather conditions and an IMD report.The advisory said light to moderate rainfall may occur in parts of the district over the next 24 hours, with thunderstorms, rain and hail also forecast.
