Mangaluru: Health minister UT Khader will inaugurate the first edition of the CII healthcare summit in the city on Saturday.Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Mangaluru chairperson Abhinav Bansal told reporters in the city on Thursday, that this edition’s summit will be held under the theme ‘Advancing Coastal Karnataka as Healthcare Destination,’ at Hotel Avatar.Bansal said that the summit aims to provide a collaborative platform to deliberate on strengthening the region as a future-ready healthcare ecosystem, and will bring together healthcare leaders, hospital administrators, policymakers, MedTech innovators, academia, investors, technology providers, doctors, and other industry stakeholders.He said the inaugural session will feature health minister UT Khader as the chief guest. Other dignitaries include Dr K Sharath Rao, vice-chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Dr Vijay Bhaskaran, convener, CII Karnataka Healthcare Taskforce, and Guruprasad Mudlapur, chairperson, CII Karnataka State Council.According to a release, coastal Karnataka is emerging as a key healthcare destination, backed by strong institutions, expertise and infrastructure, with growing potential in medical value travel, and the summit will build on these strengths and explore opportunities for growth, innovation and investment.The summit will include sessions on transforming tier-2 healthcare–the Mangaluru model for scalable excellence, MedTech and digital health innovations, Future doctor–skills beyond medicine, Investor perspectives in the healthcare sector, and Preventive healthcare in non-communicable diseases & strengthening community health systems.
