NOIDA: Ahead of the inauguration of the Noida International Airport in Jewar, the health department has drawn up an extensive emergency medical response plan, deploying over 60 ambulances and alerting multiple hospitals to ensure swift medical assistance during the event.Officials said each ambulance will be staffed with a doctor and a medical team. Forty-nine of these ambulances will be equipped with basic life support systems and 16 will have advanced life-saving facilities.Read more: Noida International Airport Inauguration Live Updates:Sixteen hospitals, including 14 private and two govt facilities, have been placed on alert to handle any emergency. The two govt hospitals are Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) and Noida district hospital.Deputy chief medical officer of Noida Chandan Soni said, “Doctors and nurses have been allotted duties at the venue. Medicines, first-aid kits, and other emergency medical supplies have also been prepared. The teams are ready to tackle any kind of unforeseen circumstances.”In June, the health department had identified hospitals within a 50km radius of the airport in Greater Noida and Jewar regions to strengthen emergency response. Officials said the facilities would receive specialised training to handle emergencies, including aircraft-related incidents and mass-casualty situations.Hospitals mapped during the exercise were Kailash Hospital, NIIMS Greater Noida, Fortis Hospital Greater Noida, Yatharth Hospital at Pari Chowk, Sharda Hospital, Mahanandan Hospital, the community health centres in Jewar and Dankaur and GIMS.“The deployment for the inauguration is aimed at ensuring rapid response capability, crowd management support and medical preparedness during the event, which is expected to draw large gatherings and high-level dignitaries,” said the official.
