Prayagraj: A man and his two sons were killed and six sustained injuries after their SUV collided head-on with another speeding SUV near Leprocy Crossing under the Naini police station limits in the trans-Yamuna pocket of the district on Friday.The deceased, Deepak Chaurasia (45), and his sons Divyansh (20) and Harshit alias Mann Chaurasia (17), were residents of Phaphamau. The accident took place when seven members of the Chaurasia family were going to Maihar in Madhya Pradesh.Police said the SUV driver, travelling from Rewa to Prayagraj, lost control, broke through the divider, and entered the opposite lane. The driver has been detained and the vehicle seized.Nine occupants of the two SUVs were injured in the accident. After receiving the alert, a Naini police team rushed to the spot with reinforcements and began rescue operations. Locals helped police extricate the trapped victims from both SUVs and shift them to the Chaka community health centre.Doctors referred the critically injured persons, including Deepak and his sons, to the district hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.
