Kolkata: Calcutta High Court on Saturday granted interim protection from eviction to alleged occupiers of railway land at Belgharia station till Aug 31.As the eviction drive was supposed to take place at 11 pm on Saturday, an urgent hearing was conducted before Justice Saugata Bhattacharyya’s bench.Since it was submitted by the petitioners that hearing on similar eviction matters are pending before a regular bench of Calcutta HC, which has been fixed on Aug 12, 13 and 14, Justice Bhattacharyya granted the interim protection till Aug 31 or until further order.
