Hyderabad: The Telangana high court has reduced the costs imposed on HYDRAA from ₹50,000 to ₹10,000 in three writ appeals related to property disputes arising from notices issued by the agency.A division bench of Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice GM Mohiuddin passed the order while hearing HYDRAA’s appeals against directions of a single judge in petitions alleging dispossession following HYDRAA notices.The single judge had imposed ₹50,000 costs after noting repeated adjournments and failure to file counter-affidavits for over a year. The agency was granted further time to submit counters on June 8, 2026, subject to payment of costs.HYDRAA argued that the counters were prepared by April 8 but filing was delayed after one was returned by the Registry with objections. It said the amount was excessive for a govt agency and sought reduction.With petitioners having no objection, the division bench lowered the costs to ₹10,000 and directed HYDRAA to file counters in all pending matters along with deposit receipts. The appeals were subsequently disposed of.
