Ranchi: Jharkhand high court on Friday continued interim protection for candidates selected in the 11th to 13th Jharkhand Public Service Commission examinations, which were cancelled by a govt notification.Justice Deepak Roshan heard petitions challenging the govt’s Aug 18 notification and fixed Oct 12 for the next hearing. The govt has maintained that gross irregularities in the recruitment process led to cancellation of the examinations and termination of the selected candidates’ services.Counsel for the petitioners argued that state govt had no authority to cancel examinations conducted by the JPSC. They said the govt could terminate employees only after following due process, including issuing show-cause notices and providing an opportunity of hearing. The petitioners also submitted that the CID, which is probing alleged corruption in the examinations, has not filed a chargesheet so far.
