Chennai: Madras high court on Tuesday closed a plea moved by an AIADMK advocate alleging distribution of 8,000 coupons by DMK cadres in several constituencies. The court closed the plea after the ECI said action had been initiated wherever complaints were received regarding distribution of the coupons and that they were seized.The first bench of Chief Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari and Justice G Arul Murugan passed the order on a plea moved by advocate R A S Senthilvel. He wanted the court to direct ECI to seize the 8,000 Illatharasi gift coupons that are allegedly being distributed by DMK to the voters, particularly in Coimbatore South, Bargur, Palacode, Kumbakonam and Anna Nagar Assembly constituencies.
