Hazaribag: Ango police station in-charge Janu Kumar has been accused of assaulting home guard Manoj Kumar Sinha on Sunday night.Sinha, who is posted at Daru circle, filed a complaint with Vishnugarh SDPO Faizan Ahmed.According to Sinha, a resident of Digwar, he had gone to meet his friend Munna Das, who is posted at the police station. He said he arrived at the station on a motorcycle with his friend Pradeep Paswan.Sinha alleged that Kumar became angry after seeing him enter the station premises on a two-wheeler. He claimed that he was made to sit inside the station for around eight hours, had his legs tied and was beaten with a lathi. He further alleged that he sustained an injury to a finger on his right hand.Sinha said he had informed Kumar that he was deployed at the residence of Daru circle officer Rambalak Kumar.Kumar, however, denied the allegations, calling them baseless. He claimed that Sinha had arrived at the station in an intoxicated state and abused people there. According to Kumar, Sinha was sent home around 11 pm in the company of his father and a villager.Vishnugarh SDPO Faizan Ahmed said the allegations would be investigated before any action is taken.
