Ayodhya: Issuing his first statement on former temple Trust general secretary Champat Rai’s nine-page letter in which he accused him of taking “arbitrary decisions”, chairman of the temple construction committee Nripendra Misra on Friday claimed that he has not come across any letter by Rai.Asked about Rai’s letter, Misra said, “Which letter? I have not seen any such letter. Until I see the letter, I will only say that this is merely fabricated story. There would not be any such criticism in a nine-page letter.”In his Aug 18 letter, Rai reportedly mentioned Misra’s role in the construction of the Ram temple, the selection of agencies, committee decisions and the management of the 70-acre temple complex. Rai also alleged that Misra had brought “some persons of his interest” into the temple construction committee. On the second day of the Ram temple construction committee meeting, Misra also provided an update on the progress of the construction work.He said the construction of the temple was the fulfilment of the dream of crores of devotees. Of the nearly 70 construction works that had been planned, around 60 had been completed, he said. The completed works have been handed over to the Ram Temple Trust, which would be responsible for their maintenance, Misra said. He added that work would be undertaken to connect the sewage and drainage systems to the main drain to address waterlogging on the premises during the monsoon.According to Misra, the focus is now on the construction of the museum, auditorium and trust office. “Around Rs 5 crore would be spent on Gallery No. 7 of the museum. The Trust will decide whether an entry fee will be charged,” he added.
