Kanpur: A 37-year-old woman, Anjali Verma, committed suicide by hanging herself from the same hook where her husband Ajay had hanged himself two years ago in Dabauli on Monday afternoon, police said.Police and a forensic team reached the spot, removed the body from the noose and sent it for postmortem examination. Snehlata Verma, a resident of Dabauli village, has a two-storey house. On the ground floor, her younger son Vijay Raj lives with his wife Deepali and daughter Lado, while on the first floor, elder daughter-in-law Anjali lives with her daughter Adrika and son Rakshit. Snehlata also lives on the second floor.Vijay said that on Monday, the children had gone to school, his mother went to her sister’s house in Barra, and he went to work. Anjali and Deepali were at home.He said Deepali went to the terrace to hang clothes and found the door locked. When the door did not open despite knocking for a long time, fearing something untoward, she informed Vijay, who then informed the police.Police arrived after receiving information and entered through the neighbour’s terrace, opened the door and found Anjali’s body hanging from a noose made with a dupatta. According to Vijay, Anjali had an e-auto which was driven by a driver. He said that five days ago, the auto had met with an accident on the highway and she was quite troubled by this. Inspector Abhay Singh said that the woman’s husband had also committed suicide two years ago.
