Belagavi: Women and child welfare minister Laxmi Hebbalkar on Tuesday described recent remarks by her brother and MLC Channaraj Hattiholi on a possible leadership change in the state as ‘personal’.Hattiholi recently claimed that all 136 Congress legislators were with DCM DK Shivakumar and said Congress workers and the public want Shivakumar to be the chief minister. He also stated that good days were around for Shivakumar after his successful talks with the top brass in New Delhi.
Responding to the comments, Hebbalkar told reporters that the statement made by Channaraj Hattiholi on the issue was his personal opinion.She said decisions related to the CM post rest with the Congress high command. “It will take a suitable decision at the appropriate time. It would be improper and unacceptable to debate such matters at the state level,” she said, seeking to quell speculation over a leadership change.
