Chandigarh: Haryana will invest nearly Rs 90 crore to redevelop Yadavindra Garden in Pinjore and Tikkar Taal in Morni Hills to boost tourism, create jobs and enhance state revenue, announced chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday.The decision was taken during a high-level review meeting chaired by the CM, who directed officials to upgrade both sites to international standards while preserving their heritage value.According to the proposal, at Yadavindra Garden, the state plans to develop a ‘one-stop destination for weddings’ in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Wed in India’ initiative. The proposed facility will include a convention centre, exhibition centre and other modern amenities to position the site as a premium wedding and events destination.A luxury hotel will also be developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model. The proposed hotel will feature a rooftop helipad to facilitate direct access for domestic and international visitors.Commissioner and secretary, heritage and tourism department, Amit Agrawal said the redevelopment would preserve the historical and architectural character of Yadavindra Garden while introducing new attractions to enhance the visitor experience. Planned additions include musical fountains, a butterfly park, an aquarium and improved illumination to promote night tourism.At Tikkar Taal, the govt plans a comprehensive overhaul of tourism infrastructure, including the adventure park, boating facilities, haunted house and other recreational attractions. The revamp aims to strengthen Morni Hills’ appeal as an adventure tourism destination.Officials said the redevelopment is expected to improve visitor amenities and increase tourist footfall at both destinations.Chief secretary Anurag Rastogi, deputy principal secretary to the CM Yashpal and other senior administrative officers attended the review meeting.
