GURGAON: A 36-year-old farm house owner was brutally murdered by his employee (caretaker) with a sharp-edged weapon at a farmhouse in the Sohna area on Sunday after nursing an old grudge.The incident came to light on April 6 when police at Sohna Sadar police station received information about a body lying at a farmhouse near Sohna-Ballabhgarh Road, close to Harchandpur Bus Stand. A team rushed to the spot and found the deceased, identified as Rahul, a resident of Ghata village in Gurgaon.According to the complaint filed by the victim’s brother, the family owns the farmhouse where a few rooms have been constructed. They had employed a caretaker, Khemchand, to look after the property. On April 5, Rahul had gone to the farmhouse and was last seen there. When they tried to contact Khemchand, he was missing and his phone was switched off, raising suspicion. After the family checked at the farm house, they got to know about his murder. “Crime scene and fingerprint teams were also called to examine the spot. During the inspection, the weapon used in the crime—a sickle—was recovered from the farmhouse. Subsequently, a team from the Crime Branch, Sohna, tracked down and arrested the accused from Delhi on April 7. The accused has been identified as Khemchand (65), a resident of Heerapur Khurd in Bulandshahr”, Sandeep Turan, police spokesperson said.During interrogation, police found that Khemchand had worked at the farmhouse for nearly 20 years but had left around one-and-a-half years ago after a dispute. He had returned intermittently for work over the past few months. Investigators said the accused harboured a grudge, alleging that the victim would sometimes assault him.“On the night of April 5, Khemchand attacked Rahul multiple times on the neck with a sickle at the farmhouse, killing him on the spot, before fleeing to Delhi. Further investigation is underway”, Sandeep added.Police have registered a murder case.
