CHANDIGARH: Haryana BJP president Dr Archana Gupta on Tuesday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and discussed organisational matters, women’s empowerment and the vision of a developed India during a half-hour meeting.Gupta presented the Prime Minister with a handcrafted lotus made from pural (paddy residue), prepared by a Haryana women’s self-help group.The eco-friendly memento symbolised women’s entrepreneurship, sustainable craftsmanship and the Centre’s ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign.Describing the interaction as the most significant moment of her public and political life since taking over as the state BJP chief, Gupta said receiving the Prime Minister’s guidance and blessings on the occasion of Guru Purnima was a matter of immense pride and inspiration.She said Modi urged the party organisation to become stronger at every level, reach the last person in society and continue to prioritise service, good governance and national interest.Gupta said she was more determined than ever to strengthen the BJP organisation in Haryana and dedicate herself to public service.Highlighting the Prime Minister’s commitment to women’s empowerment, Gupta said his vision had enabled women to make significant strides in politics, the economy, science and national security.She also credited initiatives such as the Nari Shakti Vandan Act for enhancing women’s participation in public life.Expressing gratitude to the BJP’s central leadership for entrusting her with the responsibility of leading the Haryana unit, Gupta said she would work with dedication to further strengthen the organisation, particularly at the booth level.She said every BJP worker in Haryana remained committed to taking the benefits of the Modi and Nayab Singh Saini governments’ welfare schemes to every household and contributing towards the goal of building a developed Haryana and a developed India.
