Lucknow: Hailing Hariyali Teej as a festival “deeply rooted in India’s centuries-old culture and faith”, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak attended a festive ceremony to felicitate women in Aishbagh on Sunday. Pathak said the festival, dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, fills people with new energy and enthusiasm, symbolising beauty of nature and beginning of a fresh life. He expressed happiness at being part of a celebration that honours tradition, nature and womanhood.Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya and BJP state president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, also present at the event, highlighted significance of Hariyali Teej in marking the arrival of the monsoon. “It represents greenery and peace, as Mother Earth adorns herself in green, offering calm and serenity. The festival also reflects love, sacrifice, and unshakeable faith of women,” he said.State Women’s Commission chairperson Babita Chauhan and vice chairperson Aparna Yadav extended greetings to women on the occasion. Programme coordinator Namrata Pathak said women excelling in various fields were honoured during the event.
