Ludhiana: Air travel is set to return to the city with a surge in demand for the inaugural Delhi-Halwara flight, as residents and industry leaders welcome the restoration of vital capital connectivity.Since bookings opened on Wednesday for the May 15 launch, nearly 60% of tickets for the first morning flight from Delhi have been sold. While return bookings from Halwara currently sit between 10% and 20%, airline officials expect a total sell-out as the launch date approaches.The schedule features two daily rounds. The morning flight departs Delhi at 8.35am, returning from Halwara at 10.25am. An afternoon service leaves Delhi at 12.55 pm., with the final return leg at 2.40 pm.Air India confirmed the schedule is designed for “same-day connectivity” to Europe and the UK. Passengers from Ludhiana can now book a single ticket to destinations like London, Paris, and Milan, with seamless baggage transfers through Delhi’s international terminal. Upkar Singh Ahuja, president of the Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings, said the service is a long-awaited boon for local business and global trade.
