Dimapur: Nagaland governor Nand Kishore Yadav on Monday reviewed the current status of school education in the state, including governance structures, student enrolment trends, teacher strength and key initiatives aimed at improving learning outcomes and strengthening the education system.Chairing a high-level review meeting on the progress and performance of the school education department at the Lok Bhavan in Kohima, Yadav underscored the importance of improving learning outcomes, strengthening school governance and ensuring effective implementation of educational initiatives across the state.He called for continued efforts to enhance the quality of education and ensure that govt programmes reach students effectively.The review reaffirmed the state govt’s commitment to strengthening the school education system in the state, ensuring quality, inclusive and accessible education for all students.The department officials presented an overview of the state’s education landscape, highlighting the number of schools, teachers, and students across government and private institutions.The meeting also reviewed ongoing reforms to strengthen data-driven governance through the education management information system (EMIS) and improve monitoring and planning within the education sector.
