Aizawl: Governor Vijay Kumar Singh on Tuesday said the state govt’s primary objective is to make Mizoram economically self-sufficient and self-reliant through agricultural expansion, infrastructure development, and profitable industrial activities.Delivering his customary gubernatorial address in the assembly, the governor emphasised youth empowerment through skill development, entrepreneurship programmes, and sports as key priorities of the govt.
He said the govt’s flagship programme, the Mizoram (Bana Kaih/Hand Holding) Scheme, has entered Phase 2, aimed at empowering citizens through financial, technical, infrastructural, and institutional support under a whole-of-government approach. Under its loan component, financial assistance has been disbursed to several progress partners, and funds have also been released through the Chief Minister’s Special Package Grant.He said the CM’s Innovation Challenge has been introduced to promote participative planning and innovation for sustainable development, integrating growth planning across state.
