Gurgaon: Two men opened fire outside a liquor shop, later targeted a property dealer’s office and left extortion slips in Faridabad on Saturday night.The two incidents occurred within about 30 minutes in the Sadar police station area. According to police, both incidents involved the same duo, who fired one round at each location. No injuries were reported. Police said the first incident took place around 11pm when the bike-borne youths arrived near the liquor shop in Chandawali village. “One of them fired a shot. The attackers threatened the salesman and demanded a 10% share from the liquor business, warning that liquor shops would not be allowed to operate in Faridabad if the demand was not met. They told the staffers that otherwise, the consequences would be serious,” a police officer said.Around 11.30pm, they targeted the office of property dealer Vinod Bhati in Machchhar village and fired a round outside the premises. They left behind a slip demanding Rs 50 lakh as extortion and threatened Bhati with dire consequences if the money was not paid.Bhati was at his residence when locals informed him about the firing. He later reached the spot and informed cops.Bhati has several criminal cases registered against him. Police identified the two suspects as Anil and Manish. Anil, who is from the Chandawali–Machchhar area, has several criminal cases registered against him. Cases were registered in both incidents and special teams were formed to trace the accused.
