Ahmedabad: The admission process for medical and dental courses after Class XII Science has officially commenced in the state, with the distribution of online PINs, and registration starting from July 31. Students can buy the PIN and complete online registration until Aug 12. After completing the registration, candidates will be required to visit designated help centres for document verification between Aug 3 and Aug 13. The process began after the declaration of the Re-NEET results.This year, the total number of medical seats has increased by 300, taking the overall count to 7,500 from 7,200 last year. Fifty seats each were added to CU Shah Medical College, Kiran Medical College, Nadiad, and Visnagar Medical College while 100 seats were restored in Bharuch and Amreli medical colleges.Students seeking admission under the local quota in NHL Municipal Medical College, Ahmedabad, or Surat Municipal Institute must submit a domicile certificate issued by the respective college dean. The number of students clearing NEET this year has dropped by about 10,000 compared to last year.
