Gandhinagar: The Gujarat govt will set up a nodal agency under the urban development department (UDD) to help investors obtain various permissions and no-objection certificates for their projects. The development permission investor facilitation cell (DPIFC) will function under the office of the chief town planner and coordinate with govt departments to obtain the required approvals.“Individuals and entities that have pledged investments of over Rs 100 crore for industrial purposes or over Rs 500 crore for residential or commercial purposes can contact the cell,” a source said.“Investors, particularly those from outside Gujarat, are often unfamiliar with the regulatory framework, approval procedures, and institutional mechanisms in the state. This sometimes creates hurdles in receiving necessary permissions for development projects within the jurisdiction of area development authorities and civic bodies,” said a source while explaining the basis for formation of the cell.“The investor shall provide necessary information about the project, along with necessary documents for the above purpose within a stipulated time frame as may be asked for by the cell,” according to the draft guidelines for the proposed cell.Officials clarified that the cell will only help obtain development permissions and relevant NoCs. “The authority to grant development permissions and certificates will remain with the respective agencies and bodies,” the official said.
