Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government on Wednesday announced a series of key bureaucratic reshuffles and high-level appointments. P R Patelia has been reappointed as secretary of the roads and buildings department on a contractual basis for one year, effective April 1. This move ensures continuity in infrastructure oversight, as Patelia was scheduled to retire from service on March 31.The administrative shake-up extended to several districts. Ravindra Khatale, the municipal commissioner of Mehsana Municipal Corporation, has been transferred and appointed as the new collector of Gandhinagar. This appointment effectively relieves J N Vaghela of the additional charge of the post. Similarly, G H Solanki, currently the municipal commissioner of Nadiad, will now serve as the Surendranagar collector, taking over from K S Yagnik.Further changes involve P B Pandya, the district development officer of Amreli, who has been appointed as the Jamnagar collector starting March 31. He succeeds the current Jamnagar collector, K B Thakkar, who is set to superannuate from service on the same day, marking a significant transition in district leadership.
