Ahmedabad: The State Examination Board once again extended the deadline for filling in application forms for the Chief Minister Gyan Sadhana Merit Scholarship examination to Feb 28. So far, around 5.61 lakh students studying in schools across Gujarat have registered.The application process began on Feb 5 and was initially scheduled to close on Feb 16. It was later extended to Feb 21. However, considering that some students were still unable to apply, the board granted a final extension until Feb 28. The examination will be conducted on April 4.
Based on the merit list, 25,000 students will be awarded scholarships. Students securing admissions to private schools will receive financial assistance of up to Rs 94,000 for studies from Classes 9 to 12. Those enrolled in govt and grant-in-aid schools will receive scholarships of Rs 5,000 and Rs 7,000, respectively.Additionally, eligible Class 8 students from private schools may secure admission to 25% of 65 vacant seats in Raksha Shakti School. Admissions to Class 9 in Adarsh Residential Schools will also be granted on the basis of this examination.
