Gandhinagar: Gujarat is poised to attract fresh investments after the state govt’s outreach to investors and technology companies in the US and Canada, chief minister Bhupendra Patel said on his return from the overseas visit on Thursday.Speaking to reporters at Ahmedabad airport, where he was welcomed by deputy chief minister Harsh Sanghavi and senior officials, Patel said the visit was aimed at ensuring Gujarat secures a significant share of global investments flowing into India.“Very good investment will come to Gujarat,“ Patel said, adding that the confidence global investors have in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the international relationships built by him were evident during meetings held during the tour.According to Patel, investors expressed interest in sectors such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, data centres and manufacturing. Discussions with leading financial institutions on opportunities in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) also received a positive response.Patel led a high-level state delegation to San Francisco, Washington DC and New York in the US, and Toronto in Canada, as part of preparations for the 11th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, scheduled from Jan 10 to 12, 2027.During the visit, the delegation met global investors, technology leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators and members of the Gujarati diaspora, inviting them to explore investment, collaboration and partnership opportunities at the summit. The outreach also sought to showcase Gujarat’s investment potential and promote the 2027 edition of the Vibrant Gujarat summit.The delegation included chief secretary M K Das, additional chief secretary (finance) T Natarajan, additional chief secretary (industries and mines) Mamta Verma, principal secretary to the chief minister Sanjeev Kumar and additional principal secretary Dr Vikrant Pandey, along with representatives of Gujarat’s industry and business community.On arrival in Ahmedabad, the delegation was received by Index-B managing director K C Sampat, additional industry commissioner Amit Prakash Yadav, Ahmedabad police commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot, Ahmedabad collector Bhavya Verma and other officials, who congratulated the team on the successful visit.
