Ahmedabad: In a first, the admission process for ayurveda and homeopathy courses in Gujarat has been delinked from the centralized medical and dental admissions. Following a separate schedule issued by the central govt this year, the state’s admission committee initiated an independent registration drive for these undergraduate courses on Tuesday.Eligible students can buy the online PIN and complete their registration till 2pm on Sep 6. Applicants must pay Rs 11,000 during registration, which includes a non-refundable fee of Rs 1,000 and a refundable security deposit of Rs 10,000. Document verification at designated help centres will open on Aug 27 and conclude at 4pm on Sep 7.While an estimated 8,000 seats are currently available across ayurveda and homeopathy colleges in the state, the final seat matrix will be released later.Officials anticipate a decline in the total number of available seats this year, as the respective national councils are currently inspecting colleges. Several institutions have reportedly been flagged for infrastructural and academic deficiencies, which could lead to financial penalties and seat reductions.The admission committee will announce details regarding the final seat count, choice filling, and seat allotment in the coming days.
