Ahmedabad: A 20-day-old baby monkey, apparently distressed after being separated from its mother, was rescued from a commercial complex near Ahmedabad Civil Hospital after it was found screeching.Locals alerted animal rescuers after noticing the distressed monkey. “When I got the call, locals around the hospital told me the monkey was found screeching as it was distressed due to separation from its mother,” said animal rescuer Vijay Dabhi.The baby monkey was found to be in normal health. It was fed and given first aid before being admitted to an animal hospital for further care. Dabhi said the monkey was too young to survive on its own and would require sustained care.The rescuers plan to gradually introduce the monkey to its natural surroundings once it is old enough to fend for itself.
