Noida: Two 33/11 kV power substations will come up at Badalpur and Astauli in Greater Noida to meet rising power demand. The Badalpur substation will serve nearby villages, including Achheja and Sadopur, while the one at Astauli will support operations near the local waste disposal centre and adjoining areas. Work on the substations is expected to be completed in six months.Additional substations are planned for Patwari to meet future demand in Greater Noida West amid rapid residential and commercial expansion.“Significant improvements in power supply are on the horizon for both urban and rural areas of Greater Noida, with plans to accelerate the construction of two new power substations in Badalpur and Astauli. These facilities, which promise to bolster electricity distribution, are expected to be operational by the end of this year,” said Vivek Kumar Patel, superintending engineer, Noida power department, PVVNL.Proposals have also been drafted for new substations to come up in Patwari, with aims to enhance power supply in Greater Noida West and neighbouring villages. A dedicated 220 kV power substation is also slated for construction on an 8,945 sqm plot in Ecotech-10, to meet the energy needs of the industrial sector.“The power supply infrastructure is being reinforced to bolster the overall distribution system in Greater Noida. The move aims to address issues related to reliable power supply for industries and residents alike in GB Nagar,” said Sanjay Kumar Jain, chief engineer, Noida power department, PVVNL.
