Kochi (Kerala): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the NDA was working very hard to ensure the impact of the war in the Persian Gulf on India was minimal.

Modi, while addressing a BJP election campaign rally in Palakkad, Kerala, described the reported comments by the Congress on the subject as dangerous, and an attempt to derive political advantage.

An estimated three million Malayalees live in the Gulf countries, and Modi made a pointed reference as Kerala is headed to the assembly polls on April 9.

The Congress, the PM said, wanted the lives of nearly one crore Indians living in the Gulf countries to be put at risk so that it can derive political advantage from the situation.

All nations are prioritizing the safety of Indians stranded in the war zones… You must also remember the kind of statements the Congress is making on this sensitive issue,” he said targeting the Opposition.
