Patna: In a move to transform Bihar into an industrial growth hub, the state govt has initiated a complete restructuring of its MSME directorate and begun drafting a comprehensive new MSME policy. The decision follows a series of high-level meetings led by Kundan Kumar, secretary of the Bihar industries department and managing director of BIADA and IDA, during his official visit to Hyderabad.The upcoming policy shift aims to modernise Bihar’s industrial ecosystem, accelerate investment and drive large-scale employment generation under the broader economic vision of CM Samrat Choudhary.During his visit, Kumar held extensive discussions with Vivek Kumar, programme director of the National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Ni-MSME), and Surya Prakash, SED director of MSME Telangana.The deliberations focused on adopting national best practices, enhancing institutional capacity and building a sustainable, investment-friendly framework for grassroots entrepreneurship in Bihar.In a bid to channel external investment into the state, the Industries secretary also held a key meeting with the Hyderabad chapter of the Bihar Foundation.Attended by Bihar Foundation Hyderabad chapter chairman Manvendra Mishra, secretary Uttam Yadav and Bihar Association president Hareram Singh, the discussion centred on mobilising Non-Resident Biharis (NRBs). The state aims to foster direct industrial partnerships and secure active diaspora participation in its manufacturing push.“The state govt is fully committed to building an agile and conducive ecosystem for entrepreneurship and investment promotion,” Industries secretary Kundan Kumar said, adding that institutional collaborations in Hyderabad and engagement with the global Bihari diaspora were key steps towards positioning Bihar as a frontrunner for modern industries.
