Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday said the Congress govt respects and treats Hindus, Muslims and all religions equally, and sought the cooperation of all to ensure that genuine voters’ names are not deleted in Telangana as part of the SIR, as it was done in some of the states.He also reiterated that the state govt will bear the additional financial burden faced by Haj pilgrims from the state due to increased air fares following the war situation in West Asia.The CM flagged off the buses carrying Haj pilgrims to the airport, at the Haj House in Nampally. Minorities welfare minister Mohd Azharuddin, AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, govt advisor Mohd Ali Shabbir, minorities residential educational institutes president Faheem Qureshi among others participated.Stating that the Congress govt is ensuring that minorities receive their rightful share in welfare schemes, employment opportunities and development initiatives, Revanth said 5 lakh ex-gratia was paid to the family members of each who died in the bus accident in Saudi Arabia. “Many from the minority community in Hyderabad earn their livelihood by driving auto-rickshaws. The govt decided to provide free retrofitting services to all autos operating within the Outer Ring Road, thereby converting them into EVs. This initiative will result in significant cost savings for auto-rickshaw drivers and help in reducing pollution too,” Revanth said.At a review meeting in the Secretariat, chief minister Revanth Reddy announced that special degree colleges for minorities will be established in all the combined district headquarters
